Pranayama, the 4th limb of Patanjali’s 8 pronged approach to the realization of yoga and its promise of inner freedom and fulfillment, is considered the most powerful healing tool in the application of yoga as therapy. The air we breathe is more than oxygen, it is our life essence, the yogis call Hamsa, or the great swan. It is pure consciousness, light and love and its potential to heal is endless. Breath awareness unlocks the mystery of own hidden Selves.
